SALT LAKES

A collection of images captured during a short trip to Torrevieja in the southeast of Spain. This area is known for its vibrant salt lakes that sit right on the coastline.

The lakes here have a high concentration of salt and have a primarily pink and colourful hue to them. This is due to pigment in the algae that inhibit the bottom of the salty lakes.

“It was a very early start, with a short taxi ride to a pin I had dropped on my map. I honestly didn’t know if it would be a good spot to shoot at, or even accessible... But that unknown sense of adventure is what I love. And when the sun rose, it revealed miles of beautiful pink lakes.”
